This Handmade Horse Hair Feather Raku vase from Monica Ritenour Pottery is a unique fusion of tradition and family collaboration, fired with my son who has shared this craft since childhood and remains engaged today. Crafted using mica-infused terrasigliata, it captures a captivating sparkle produced by the reduction from burning feathers at around 1400°F. Each piece reflects the curious, self-taught spirit of a small batch potter living and working on SaltSpring Island, BC.
